ART II HONORS
Class Description:
A second level honors art course at GHS, or "ART 2 Honors" class is designed to give students a more in depth understanding and appreciation for art elements, principals and practices, emphasizing skill-development and creative problem-solving. The Art II Honors course is focused on student growth in creativity and analytical writing along with technical drawing and painting skills. There is a more in-depth study of art history than in a regular class. Students will participate in critiques with a focus on student strengths and possible future growth. Students are permitted to explore a variety of techniques and processes through various media. The Art II Honors course focuses on helping students to begin to build an in-depth and broad portfolio that will help students to prepare for future art courses whether that be in the International Baccalaureate program, the AP Art program, or on the college level.
